My Uncle
6+
Jacques Tati, France, 1958
Gerard lives with his parents in an ultra modern villa with all modern conveniences. Is that really so? The fountain is full of tricks and the garage door seems to have a will of its own. The housekeeping is completely disorganized when clumsy monsieur Hulot, Gerard’s uncle, visits the family. Tati heightens the story when Hulot gets a job at the factory. A lovely film by a French director who has his own style of magnifying things, creating a good share of slapstick and adding an original soundtrack. A must see for young and old!
