A remote coastal settlement in northern Iceland. Boas is the 11 year old son of the local priest. One day he sees a strange furry creature drifting ashore on an iceman. The superstitious villagers believe it to be an emissary of the devil and the cause of the hardship brought on by a sever winter and they decide to kill it.
