The film tells the story of eight-year-old Vincent's earnest yet absurd attempts to make sense of the world. Taking his cues from the grown-ups, his logical conclusions include that in order to avoid death he must never to go to sleep again. With the support of a hapless tortoise, Vincent eventually realises that grown-ups cannot always be trusted.
