Making a Documentary
During the 13th European Youth Film Festival Flanders in Bruges,Jekino Films will compose a repot team of youngsters between 14 and 18 years old. During the festival week they will make a real video report. Their mission is to give a highly original peep behind the scenes, caught in heart-warming images and profound interviews, ... The workshop is in the hands of a professional collaborator of Jekino films, an official youth service which has been trying to stimulate the interest in good children and youth films for 20 years. To 'teach the children how to look' is Jekino's major aim. 'What do images tell us? What do they mean? With what intention are they shown?' To ask such questions during the workshop and to find answers, helps the children to select from the large amount of images. Out of the participants, a few youngsters will be selected o make, during a year, a short film as part of Bruges 2002.
